Classes per Age
In England, year groups are determined by how old the child is on the 31st of August and how old they will be turning in that school year. To find out the year group for your child, please look at the table below. Please also bear in mind that each child will be given assessments upon their arrival. The assigned year group is based on the results and at the discretion of the Executive Head in liaison with you and your child.
- Preschool: 3-4 Years
- Reception: 4-5 Years
- Year 1 (Infants): 5-6 Years
- Year 2 (Infants): 6-7 Years
- Year 3 (Juniors): 7-8 Years
- Year 4 (Juniors): 8-9 Years
- Year 5 (Juniors): 9-10 Years
- Year 6 (Juniors): 10-11 Years
- Year 7 (Lower Seniors): 11-12 Years Move to Senior School
- Year 8 (Lower Seniors): 12-13 Years
- Year 9 (Lower Seniors): 13-14 Years Students choose GCSE’s
- Year 10 (Upper Seniors): 14-15 Years GCSEs start
- Year 11 (Upper Seniors): 15-16 Years GCSE exam year
- Year 12 (Sixth Form): 16-17 Years A-Levels start
- Year 13 (Sixth Form): 17-18 Years A-Level exam
