The School becomes a Theatre Company . . .
Each year students in the Lower and Upper Seniors have the opportunity to become a member of the Greenfields Theatre Company. Senior students, as long as their academic targets
have been met, are invited to join the Greenfields Theatre Company. The "GTC" puts on a full-scale theatrical production with several performances each July as part of our annual Gala Weekend, the end-of-the-school year celebration that also includes the Summer Fair, Graduation and Graduates' Ball. Students handle the many facets that a full-scale theatre production involves. They can work in public relations or marketing, finance, stage management, lighting, sound, scenery and props, costume-making and, of course, the most popular options of all, acting and dance.
The students do it all under the supervision of the Drama Department. Art and English programmes are integrated with design projects and the result has been productions which have become well-known for their quality and professionalism.
Apart from providing a spring-board for future careers in the arts or media, the GTC builds communication skills and leaves students with a tremendous sense of accomplishment and achievement.
