The Lower Seniors consists of Years 7, 8 and 9. In these first three years, we are fervent in our desire to give each and every student a rounded education in a wide range of subjects and to open their eyes to the possibilities that lie ahead of them in the world at large.
Throughout the entire school we ensure that class sizes are kept small, on average 1 teacher to 15 students. This means that each student receives more one to one attention, which they deserve.
The Cambridge Curriculum continues throughout the senior school. We assess each child regularly to determine their progress and to ensure that they are succeeding in all subjects. Tailor-made programmes can be made to suit each individual child. If your child is advancing quickly, then they can be challenged with more advanced work and if they need extra support, then they can receive the assistance that they need to resolve any problems and move forward.
Subjects taught include Maths, English Language, English Literature, Physics, ICT (Computers), Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Art, Drama, Music, Sport and Spanish.
When students join the Lower Seniors, top priority is placed on ensuring that they are provided with the tools needed to study properly. They take courses that teach them how to overcome any barriers that they may experience when studying and this gives them a confidence and an ability that they can study anything. The aim of the Lower Seniors is to give every individual enough of an overview of subjects in order for an informed choice to be made when it comes to deciding what will be studied for examinations in Years 10 and 11, and possible career choices.
