Introducing
The David Gaiman Award for Outstanding Contribution in the
Community
Our much-loved Greenfields Trustee David Gaiman, passed away
on Saturday 7th March, 2009. He was one of the most noted
humanitarians in the community, as well as a fantastic leader
and advisor for staff and pupils from Greenfields School where
he had been a trustee since its formation in the 1980s.
Hundreds of messages of condolence came in from all over
the world at David’s memorial service, lauding Mr. Gaiman
for his achievements and contributions to friend and colleague
alike and for the real help he gave many people who knew him
– almost one for one.
David will be most remembered at Greenfields for his incredible
sense of humour and the feeling of well-being he gave to everyone
with whom he came in contact, as well as for his invaluable
and perpetual support of the school and its projects. His
work for the Trust was tireless. The school undertook massive
expansion during his time as a Trustee and he oversaw everything,
bringing calm and good order wherever he went.
A new award, titled The David Gaiman Award for Outstanding
Contribution in the Community, is being given each year
at Greenfields Graduation on his behalf and in his memory.
