Is your child ready for his or her exams?
Do you feel that your child will get the attention he or she needs and deserves in these critical years?
Are you worried that your child’s current school is too interested in ‘grades’ and not in understanding a subject?
These are the crucial years for most children. The outcome of this two year period can heavily determine what will happen in the rest of their lives. What they need now is support and guidance from experienced hands.
Putting a foot wrong at this stage can wreck everything that has gone before.
Luckily, there is a school that
- has small class sizes enabling almost one-to-one tuition in some cases
- has a working methodology for dealing with individual study problems
- prepares a child for the best possible results using a high-standard, aligned curriculum
- places all this within reach financially.
At Greenfields, the Upper Senior years operate like a well-oiled machine: subject teachers know the Cambridge Curriculum and its levels of attainment and have planned accordingly to deliver the best possible product to each individual in their care. Over the five terms of study, with one term being taken up with the exams themselves, students are carefully timetabled and programmed to get the best out of all their preceding years of education. Greenfields delivers Cambridge’s International General Certificates of Secondary Education (IGCSEs).
In Greenfields Independent Day and Boarding School, Upper Senior classes are always structured so that the teacher can immediately spot any issues with individual studies. Problems can be quickly addressed. The internationally-famous Cambridge curriculum uses a system of assessment throughout the school, all the way from Year 1 to Advanced Levels in Year 13, which means that improvements can be built on and any issues swiftly remedied with a focus on adding value.
Our New Fees Scheme means that school fees are affordable for almost everyone.
In Year 9, students select from a wide range of subjects and commence an intensive programme of studies on Year 10 which leads to further study and revision in Year 11, culminating in the Cambridge examinations, which usually start in April or May of that last year and often don’t finish completely until the end of June.
Subjects taught include Maths, English Language, English Literature, Physics, ICT (Computers), Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Art, Photography, Drama, Spanish, Film Studies and Business Studies.
